What is there for my family?

Westlake United Methodist Church has activities and programs to connect people of all ages and stages in life. Our programs for children nurture infants and toddlers, engage pre-school and elementary students in the Bible and inspire and motivate Junior High and High School students to grow in faith and fellowship.

Nursery Care

If you have a little one that's six weeks to 2 years old, we offer loving and safe nursery care from 8:15 - 11:45 each Sunday morning and for select events and small groups. We use a secure sign-in/out process and a silent pager system for safety and peace of mind.

Pre-school

If your family includes inquisitive 3, 4 or 5 year-olds, take them to the nursery where they will engage in age appropriate activities at 8:30am. If you come for the 10:30 worship hour, your pre-schooler or kindergartener will head directly to Sunday morning JAM (Jesus And Me) classes.

Elementary Age

In the BLAST program, (Bible Learning Adventure STations) your 1st through 6th grade child will meet a caring small group leader in Fellowship Hall and be shepherded to a different hands-on activity beginning at 10:30. Children's Choir is offered for children in grades 1 - 6, from 9:15 to 10:15 every Sunday. Quarterly the 5th and 6th graders gather for times of social activity and service projects. This group is known as Little League.

7th and 8th Grade

We offer a confirmation program for your 7th or 8th grade student, that includes Sunday morning (9:15) Faith Challenge classes, overnight retreats, outreach activities and field trips. Junior High School students attend worship at 10:30 and join the Senior High for youth fellowship and service.

High School

Our Senior High meet for Sunday School at 9:15 and participate in a wide range of activities that includes monthly service projects, an annual mission trip as well as activities designed just for fun and fellowship.

I stopped going to church years ago, but now that I have children, I'd like to start going again . . . what should I do?

We encourage you to take the first step and come for a visit! We value the involvement of children, youth and families in all church activities. Our strong Christian Education and Youth programs often spark the involvement of the entire family! Come join us for Sunday worship and see how each member of your family can feel at home at WUMC.
