S.P.I.C.E. (Special people in Christian Education)
If our program may better support your budding Methodist with alternative activities, individualized care, or buddy to tag along during our Sunday school hour, we look forward to connecting with you! Help us make your whole family’s time with us on Sunday morning as special as possible.
If you volunteer within our busy church life between 9:50 – 10:15, we hope you look for one of our super friendly and well screened nursery assistants seated in the first pew in the sanctuary. Parent or guardian may transition a child(ren) to our team member. We want to enable parents with young children to participate in choir, hospitality, greeting, or teaching a class like other “normal” adults.
10:00 A.M. Programs
Bee-Lievers (Preschool and Pre-K)
This dance party, story circling, Jesus loving, crew of children ages 3, 4, and 5 (pre-kinder) meets in room 207. Bee-Lievers focuses on how God’s love makes us good, and how loving Jesus makes us feel good. Bible stories transition from the circle to hands-on activities facilitated by two terrific teachers.
Deep Blue (Kinder – Fifth Grade)
Our children kindergarten through fifth grade team joins worshiping adults and teens in the sanctuary for the beginning of the 10:00 a.m. worship service. After participating in a small sample of the worship service and participating in our children’s message, our kiddos are dismissed down the stairs to fellowship hall. Together with our Director of Christian Education and Sunday school teachers, the children share announcements, prayer concerns, and celebrations as a group before heading off to their unique classrooms. Each grouping has its own unique vibe tied to their age, their collective class personality, and their teacher’s style. At each step up in their faith formation, our programs shifts from sharing information to seeking connections to synthesizing today’s experiences with scripture lessons. All classes participate in mission and service with age accessible opportunities. And yes! There is glitter, paint, scooters, and even a class pet.
